Chris Paul Hornets

Could Chris Paul be on his way out of New Orleans?

The 2009-10 NBA season is long gone and we’ll be talking football before we seriously talk fantasy basketball again, but that shouldn’t stop the news from pouring in.

With the 2010 NBA Draft just a month old, NBA Free Agency knocking everyone on their backs, and NBA Summer League action hitting Orlando and Las Vegas, there’s plenty of news to go around.

Read on for the big news across the NBA:

Reggie Evans-F-Charlotte Bobcats

Reggie Evans has an expiring contract that will be sent to the Bobcats as part of Monday’s trade between Charlotte, Toronto, and Phoenix. He hasn’t evolved much over the years, but will rebound the ball and play hard defense.

Tiago Splitter-F-San Antonio Spurs

The Spurs are holding a press conference on Monday to announce that they have signed 2007 draft pick Tiago Splitter. Splitter is a highly-regarded prospect who will be able to slide right into their rotation.

Quentin Richardson-G/F-Orlando Magic

Quentin Richardson has agreed in principle to a multi-year contract with the Orlando Magic. Details of this contract should be made public soon and may leave many wondering if they will be able to resign J.J. Redick, too.

Tyson Chandler-C-Toronto Raptors

The Bobcats have traded center Tyson Chandler to the Toronto Raptors. His main goal will be to stay healthy, which he has not been able to do in recent years. Even at full strength, he may have to fight for a starting position.

Chris Paul-PG-New Orleans Hornets

Chris Paul, while attending Carmelo Anthony’s wedding in New York City, was heard saying that himself, Carmelo, and Amare Stoudemire will create their own “Big 3” all being Knicks. The Knicks are eyeing Paul and Tony Parker as possible point guards in the future.

Jose Calderon-PG-Charlotte Bobcats

The Bobcats are close to sending Boris Diaw and possibly Tyson Chandler to the Raptors in a three-way deal that includes the Suns. Charlotte would acquire point guard Jose Calderon and at least one other player.

T.J. Ford-PG-Indiana Pacers

The Pacers have 15 players under contract and will likely need to pursue a trade in order to acquire the starting point guard they covet. Coach Jim O’Brien clearly wants to go in a different direction in his style of point guard so Ford could be traded this summer.

Hedo Turkoglu-G/F-Phoenix Suns

The Suns are close to acquiring Hedo Turkoglu from the Raptors, while sending Leandro Barbosa to Toronto. Turkoglu could become the Suns’ starting power forward in place of Amare Stoudemire. He would be a great fit in Phoenix and his fantasy numbers could make a rebound.

Al Harrington-F/C-New York Knicks

Free agent forwards Al Harrington has recovered from his shoulder surgery and is looking to sign with a contender. The Magic are interested in him, but may not have the money to sign him. He is looking for a multi-year contract while he is still in his prime.
